Meaningful new U.S. crypto-regulation development: The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission has scheduled a Friday, August 14 vote to formally propose “Regulation Crypto.” This is the SEC’s first major formal crypto rulemaking initiative and would create a tailored pathway for certain digital-asset offerings.

Senate Majority Leader John Thune DID formally file cloture on the motion to proceed to H.R. 3633, the Digital Asset Market CLARITY Act, at 4:52 a.m. on August 8. The official Senate Daily Press record now explicitly confirms the filing.
