OpenAI said its artificial intelligence agent products, Codex and ChatGPT Work, have reached a combined 10 million users, nearly doubling from earlier this month following the launch of ChatGPT Work.
The milestone was first reported by Bloomberg ahead of the company's official announcement Tuesday.
OpenAI said the milestone comes less than two weeks after introducing ChatGPT Work, an AI agent designed to handle a broad range of tasks, alongside Codex, its coding-focused agent. The announcement coincides with OpenAI's Build Week, an event aimed at developers, creators, founders and students experimenting with Codex.
The update underscores growing demand for AI agents as OpenAI and rivals such as Anthropic compete to build software capable of carrying out increasingly complex tasks on users' behalf.
