the Nasdaq Composite closed down by over 4.5% on at least three specific days since 2020:

March 16, 2020: The index fell by approximately 12% (the largest one-day slump since 2000).
April 7, 2025: The index slid by 5.8% (though the intraday drop was 5.15%, the closing change was negative and significant; note: the table lists April 7, 2025,
with a closing change of +0.10%, but the CBS News article states the Nasdaq slid 5.8% on a Friday in April 2025.
The Wikipedia table for "Largest daily changes" lists April 7, 2025, as having a closing change of +0.10% despite a
large intraday drop. However, the CBS article explicitly states the Nasdaq closed down 5.8% on a Friday in April 2025.

here is no record of the Nasdaq Composite falling by 1,400 points in a single day since year 2000.

The largest single-day point decline recorded in the data occurred on March 16, 2020, when the index fell 970.28 points (a 12.32% drop). This remains the largest daily percentage and point decline for the Nasdaq since the index's inception in 1971, and it is significantly less than the 1,400-point threshold specified. Other major declines, such as the dot-com crash in 2000-2002 and the 2008 financial crisis, involved smaller point drops (e.g., a ~355-point drop in April 2000) or occurred when the index level was much lower, making a 1,400-point swing mathematically impossible at those times.
