Churchill Capital Corp XI (NASDAQ:CCXI) shares are soaring Monday. The move follows a Friday announcement from the company and Agility Robotics that they expect to raise about $465 million in connection with their planned merger. Here’s what you should know.

Churchill Capital XI Stock Surges On Agility Robotics Funding Update

Churchill Capital XI shares are climbing Monday. Churchill and Agility Robotics projected a $465 million raise for their merger last Friday.

The jump follows a slide: the stock opened near $8.07, near its most recent 52-week low of $8.05, and well under the previous low of $9.58, before reversing higher.

Churchill XI is a blank-check company: a listed shell that raised money so it could merge with a private business. Once the deal closes, the merged company will trade as Agility Robotics. Agility makes humanoid robots called Digit, which aim to take over repetitive, physically demanding jobs in fields like logistics and manufacturing.

The vote comes first. Churchill XI shareholders meet Monday to decide on the merger, where approval would let the companies close Nov. 4 and begin trading Nov. 5 on Nasdaq as AGLT. The companies claim the new company would be the lone U.S.-listed business devoted entirely to humanoid robots that already works for customers.

The $465 million has three parts. Cash left in the shell’s trust supplies about $164 million. A private stock sale priced at $10 a share, with Foxconn leading, adds about $201 million. Agility already took in $100 million in equity after announcing the merger. Current Agility owners will exchange their stakes for shares of the merged company and cannot sell for 180 days.

CCXI Stock Technical Read: A Bounce Inside a Decline

CCXI’s low point was $8.05 on Oct. 30, and the stock still trades about 52% under its July 6 high of $19.69. It has lost 21.02% over the past month. Monday’s 16.2% gain is roughly six times the stock’s typical daily swing of 2.7%. Shares sit close to the top of a range from $8.00 to $9.68.

The bigger trend still points down. The stock is beneath its 20-, 50- and 200-day averages, with the 50-day line now under its 200-day counterpart. Falling back below $8.05 at the close would wipe out Monday’s bounce. Clearing $10.50, where resistance sits, would signal early repair.

CCXI Shares Are Soaring
