AbbVie shares fell 2% despite Q3 revenue and EPS beats; analysts raised targets, citing immunology strength and long-term growth prospects.

Shares of AbbVie (NYSE:ABBV) tanked in early trading on Monday after the company reported its third-quarter results on Friday.

Here are some key analyst takeaways:

  • Guggenheim Securities analyst Vamil Divan reiterated a Buy rating, while raising the price target from $288 to $322.
  • Cantor Fitzgerald analyst Carter Gould maintained an Overweight rating, while lifting the price target from $290 to $325.

Guggenheim Securities: AbbVie reported total net revenues of $17.404 billion and earnings of $3.82 per share above consensus estimates of $17.29 billion and $3.73 per share, respectively, Divan said in a note. Most products performed in-line with or slightly better than expected, he added.

Management expects the momentum to persist in the fourth quarter and into 2027, supported by strength of the Immunology and Neuroscience franchises, the analyst stated. “More broadly, AbbVie continues to expect to deliver top-tier growth relative to their peers next year as they did this year,” he further wrote.

Cantor Fitzgerald: AbbVie’s third-quarter beat was against lowered Street expectations, Gould said. “In less accommodating markets, we would have expected ABBV shares to sell off on a print of this type,” especially with less impressive beats across Skyrizi and Rinvoq, he wrote.

AbbVie’s performance is likely to reaccelerate, with the recent approval of subcutaneous Skyrizi in the AFFIRM study for Crohn’s disease, the analyst noted.

AbbVie is diversifying its immunology business beyond a single major drug by advancing key trials and acquiring new assets like Apogee, a strategic move that could position the company for sales growth extending well into the 2030s, he added.

ABBV Price Action: Shares of AbbVie had declined by 2.03% to $288.91 at the time of publication on Monday.
