TD Cowen: Wingstop reduced its 2026 guidance to reflect the shortfall in its third-quarter results, Charles said in a note. While management "highlighted green shoots in the strategy," the company’s return to sales growth is likely to take time.

‘In our view, value efforts new to the 2026 NFL season are helping sales but aren’t changing the long-term trajectory of the business," the analyst wrote. He added that Wingstop is trying to execute a turnaround against a challenging low-income consumer backdrop.

DA Davidson: While Wingstop’s same-store sales declined by 5.4% in the third quarter, this was better than feared and followed two consecutive quarters of "material misses," Curtis said. The company continues to face traffic pressure amid the challenging backdrop, he added.

Management lowered its full-year comp guidance to reflect a decline of 6.5% to 7%, versus its prior projection of a decline of 4% to 6%, the analyst said. This implies a decline of about 4.5%- 6.5% in the fourth quarter, "as a material inflection appears to remain elusive quarter to date despite early encouraging signals following the launch of revamped marketing in the second week of September," he further wrote.

BTIG: While Wingstop’s same-store sales (SSS) remained soft in the third quarter, they were better than feared. Management indicated that the weakness was mostly due to soft traffic, with the average check remaining relatively flat despite discounts, Saleh added.

Restaurant development was slightly below expectations, with 76 net new units, marking a sequential slowdown in growth, the analyst said. "While guidance was reduced, it was still better than expected, and we take solace in the sequential improvement that has built through the year after bottoming in 1Q26," he further wrote.

Stephens: Wingstop reported total revenues of $185.1 million, slightly short of Street estimates of $193.7 million, Salera said. Despite the revenue miss, the company’s adjusted earnings of $1.08 per share beat the $1.03 consensus, he added.

Although management lowered their full-year comp and unit growth guidance, third-party data quarter-to-date seems "encouraging thus far," the analyst stated. "We see the comp guide as attainable and perhaps beatable," he further wrote.

WING Price Action: Wingstop shares rose 2.21% to $141.63 at the time of publication on Thursday.
