Global X, the ETF issuer that has brought four new ETFs with a global outlook to market already this year, has filed plans to introduce another seven international ETFs to investors.
New York-based Global X, which already has a stable of 22 ETFs, said in a filing with the SEC it wants to roll out six international small-cap funds and one ETF focused on U.K. mid-caps. That fund, the Global X UK Mid-Cap ETF, will track the FTSE 250 Index.
The Global X Germany Small Cap ETF will track the Solactive Germany Small-Cap Index. The Global X Mexico Small-Cap ETF will track the Solactive Mexico Small-Cap Index. The Global X Hong Small-Cap ETF and the Global X Singapore Small-Cap ETF will also track Solactive indexes. All four ETFs will be the first to market tracking those market niches.
Global X is also planning to compete with IndexIQ with the introduction of small-cap ETFs tracking South Korea and Taiwan. IndexIQ currently was first to market with the IQ South Korea Small Cap ETF (NYSE: SKOR) and the IQ Taiwan Small Cap ETF (NYSE: TWON).
Global X's two most recent offerings are the Global X FTSE ASEAN 40 ETF (NYSE: ASEA), which offers exposure to Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand and the Philippines in one fund, and the Global X FTSE Andean 40 ETF (NYSE: AND), the only ETF to track Chile, Colombia and Peru within one fund.
