Nebius Group (NASDAQ: NBIS) stock gains over 8% Friday, alongside competitor IREN and an industry-wide cloud rebound ahead of earnings.

Nebius Group NV (NASDAQ:NBIS) stock advanced on Friday, recovering from a sell-off earlier in the week. The upward movement comes as cloud infrastructure and artificial intelligence names rebound from Thursday’s downturn, which followed political developments around the U.S. midterm elections.

The Nasdaq is up 2.26% while the S&P 500 has gained 1.06% and technology is leading all sectors with a 2.44% gain.

Sympathy Move from IREN

Competitor IREN Limited (NASDAQ:IREN) bolstered sector sentiment after posting fiscal 2027 first-quarter financial results following Thursday’s market close. IREN reported revenue of $228 million, up 66% sequentially, exceeding the consensus forecast of $221.281 million.

Daniel Roberts, IREN’s co-founder and co-CEO, stated, “This quarter, Horizon 1 went into service for Microsoft with Nvidia Exemplar status, AI Cloud revenue nearly tripled to $200 million and operating ARR doubled to a billion.”

Upcoming Earnings

Nebius faces its next financial catalyst on Thursday when it reports third-quarter 2026 earnings. Consensus estimates project an adjusted loss of 69 cents per share on revenue of $906.01 million, compared to a loss of 40 cents per share on $146.10 million in revenue in the year-ago period.

NBIS Technical Analysis

Even with today’s bounce, Nebius is still in a damaged intermediate-term trend: the stock is trading 21% below its 20-day SMA, 35.3% below its 50-day SMA, and 26.8% below its 200-day SMA, which keeps rallies vulnerable to selling into overhead supply. The 20-day SMA sitting below the 50-day SMA reinforces that near-term trend pressure remains bearish until price can reclaim key moving-average zones.

NBIS faces key resistance at $132.50, a near-term hurdle where upward momentum could fade before the stock attempts to reclaim its short-term moving averages.

Analyst Sentiment

The average analyst price target for Nebius is $233.71, 79.9% above the current price. Of 19 analysts, 15 rate it Buy, three Hold and one Sell. Targets range from $84 to $410. The latest change came on Wednesday, when Citigroup lowered its price forecast on Nebius Group from $324 to $265 and kept a Buy rating.

NBIS Stock Price Activity: Nebius Group shares were up 8.84% at $131.01 at the time of publication on Friday, according to Benzinga Pro data.
