Kroger Shares Rebounding ~0.5% Tues. Morning Following 1.7% Sell Off On Monday; Grocers Were Under Pressure Mon. With The Majority Of Retail

A Seeking Alpha article on Monday cited comments from a Barclays analyst warning of concerns related to Amazon; however the specific analyst's comments were not new, nor was the concern related to Amazon. 

• Smart & Final Stores (SFS)  were down 11% at Monday's close
• Weis Markets (WMK) shares were down 8%
• SUPERVALU (SVU) shares were down 4.5%
• Sprouts (SFM) shares were down 3.7%

Even with this downside, grocers were not the laggard in the retail sector. Department store stocks such as JC Penney, Macy's and Nordstrom fell 4.3%, 2.2% and 1.7%, respectively.

Wal-mart was the lone gainer in retail, up 2% at Monday's close.
