Borderlands is doing ok but I think NBA 2k20 has serious problems.
Facts: Uk sales are down by 1/3 and if you look on Twitch at the park lobbies its mostly quiet and empty while last years park was crowded like hell.
My estimation would be they have sold 20-40% less copies vs previous year which would have big financial impact due to NBA Microtransactions was one hell of revenue contributor
Take Two raised 50% in the last 6 months on no news while Activision and EA have stalled in their sideway action. The situation will reverse now.
Activision certainly has the best release slate. EA usually fucks it up due to they are to greedy. Take Two will stall
The news is simple NBA 2K20 sells 20-30% below previous years and gets smashed
Borderlands 3 is failing to hit the top in sales charts
Thats what currently is happening and the stock market is about future and there Take Two has played all their cards for current gen. Future is a little bit blurry. They will remain ~2,5B in annual revenue but further growth cannot be seen right now
Just less than 12 hours from release and Borderlands 3 fails to take top sales charts of Amazon!!
Get out!
Take Two‘s best years just happened now they are in a hole again till next gen and GTA6
EA and Activision have now the best IP to be released in the next 18 months while we just speculate about Bully2 and RDR2 DLCs for Take Two
If COD Beta outperforms Borderlands on Twitch this could go down further
At least from Amazon sales charts this is the case. BO3 will just sell mediocre 6-9M units first year
With just average performance of their recent releases NBA and BO3 I think they will feel some downwind to 120$
Putting Take Two in comparison to the other gaming companies they require more AAA IP. Yes its playing out with GTA and RDR2 but there is too less big titles to be as strong as Activision or EA. Also mobile they started but somehow didnt went further. Private Division is finde but also not the multi billion dollar idea. Now we come to an end of console cycle and Take Two is reliant again to work on GTA 6 to be the key franchise for the next gen.
Their current valuation is too high or the others are too low
Most people review Borderlands 3 as good but nothing new. Just like I said mediocre
Certainly great for the fans but not attracting new audience which is the reason it will not be a higher than expected release. That also can be seen that CoD outsells Borderlands in most preorder charts
Reviews for Nba 2k are always bad and dont lead to bad sales. Its the only basketball sim available. Nevertheless the community finally noticed its all the same again. Uk sales indicate that the title is selling below previous year
People will wait till price drops below 30$
NBA 2k20 probably has a bad performance vs previous year Borderlands 3 will be a mediocre release to a limited audience. T2 is saved once again by GTA and will see tougher competition this winter.
Dont see much room to grow so close to Ath
Get ready for a huge drop in Take Two. If they havent made last minute changes NBA 2k20 will be roasted this year
Ive never seen something more disgusting.
They have already pulled all trailers from youtube
