Analysts expect $50 million for costs associated with Zogg fire. PGE is insured for $1.4 billion. Conditions did not meet agreed guidelines by cal fire and PGE to conduct a PSPS for the area in question. Area was rebuilt by PGE 3 years prior due to CARR fire. The sections of line that were not rebuilt were inspected due to tier 3 fire area. No neglect on PGE part. Independent investigation for Cal fire deemed equipment not responsible for Zogg, although cal fire apparently disagrees and brought in additional inspectors.
Currently PCG has weighted 12 month avg PE ratio of 2.8 x earnings.
Utility average 18 x earnings.
Think well be ok.
11 next week? No? 12 then.
Space man, James Bond, Sirius, monkey boy?
Awful quiet.
Made 40k not selling Friday AH. So far...
10,50 close?
Owned this in the 40s and the 3s. Gonna take more than 10s to scare me.
Long.
Tax exempt bonds back on table? Gavin says he wants Cali to encourage business friendly incentives and programs to keep folks around.
This holds 10 today looking at 15-20 this year.
Showing strength AFTER news of a potential fire.
Damn. Holding for 2 yrs, down 4 trading days.
Think ill hold.
8100 fires in Cali this year.
PGE might be responsible for 1.
I agree Utilities should pay if found responsible. However, the entire community of Berry Creek, Brush Creek, and Feather Falls above Oroville, Ca was destroyed due to backfire lit by cal fire - no press coverage whatsoever. Santa Rosa has burned twice due to 3rd party fires, as has Redding.
I know shit happens and cal fire folks work their ass off, but which is it - neglectful utilities or climate change?
PGE has thousands of miles of ignition source - and maybe 1 fire this year. Definitely not negligent.
Cal fire brought in independent investigation for confirmation to their initial findings. 3rd party found PGEs equipment not to blame. Cal fire disagrees and brought more investigators on board. Stay tuned...
PGE assets have been inspected within the last 2 years since camp fire. In high fire areas, lots of redundancy - many lines have been looked at several times by both tree and line inspectors.
Area in question was also burned in Carr fire 2017 - many PGE facilities in this area were rebuilt / deemed to be ok.
PGE indicated wind models did not meet criteria for PSPS for the igo area.
Shit still happens tho.
Birdies know a lot. Lots of rumors. Holding.
Ill take 2 percent all day every day.
$PCG is tanking, moved onto materials $LDDAF Microcap mining company with huge upside!!
All these ignition sources- lightning, electrical fences, car trailers, arson - nobody gets paid. But the local power provider - who cannot deny power to folks - and who has thousands of miles of ignition source - who is under state and federal regulation - will be deemed negligent and has to pay up. Only in California.
Freaking liberalism. Why didnt climate change play into camp fire? Cause they pick and choose what nonsense to run with given the cause.
PCG equipment due to wind event, trees falling = evil, negligent capitalist
Lightning strikes, 3rd party, arson = climate change
Got it.
First sign of life in 3 months- didnt expect it due to fire season- see if she holds. $25 sp minimum. I can hold for years.
May have something to do with being one of the largest utilities in the US, but is 750th in market cap. Should be at least in top 10. Also, many folks are looking at climate change these days - may include shoring up utilities in high threat areas. All just speculation of course, and why Im long.
Sure glad Cali invested in wind and solar instead of building reservoirs and logging trees. One thing for sure - deep pocket PCG was negligent but now its climate change. 50 yrs of democrat leadership to see utter destruction and utter failures. SMH.
