Earnings preview: Will Urban Outfitters emerge from the slump in Q2?
There has been a great deal of concern among investors about Urban Outfitters (NASDAQ: URBN) due to the lifestyle retailer’s dismal performance in the stock market. As the company prepares to publish results for the second quarter of 2020 on August 20 at 4:10 pm ET, the general sentiment is not very optimistic.
Analysts, on average, forecast earnings to be $0.59 per share, down 30% from the year-ago quarter. Revenues are expected to decline by 1% to $982.6 million. In an indication that the pricing challenges that affected sales in the early months of the fiscal year still persist, the management had predicted slower comparable store sales growth and a decline in margins for the to-be-reported quarter.
